Clipping Path Services - New Opportunity to Cut Significant Costs on Graphics

Clipping Paths -- The New Outsourcing Craze in the Graphics Industry?
Among the many well known graphic outsourcing tasks there is everything from 3D/2D graphics to the entire design of a website. However, a new service which is in the current focus of design companies is the outsourcing of clipping paths. This new service simply outlines any images or photos needed for graphical production and allows the customer to place any background behind the actual object. This is often needed for catalogs, posters, brochures, websites, and many other forms of print or design.

For several flower services, LazyMask (a clipping path specialist), has become an essential asset in their production chain. According to Jens Brober the CEO of FloraGrafia, a flower marketing company, "LazyMask has cut costs significantly and saved me a lot of hours, which I otherwise would have spent on clipping paths rather than marketing".

Specialized Outsourcing Equals Lower Prices and Higher Quality
LazyMask chooses, as one of the few companies, to channel all its resources into meeting this clipping path need. CEO Morten Kirk Andersen says that "by specializing in this service, LazyMask can offer the best quality level in the industry as well as cost efficient prices. Our focus is in making customers not only realize that major costs can be saved, but also a lot of time."
So whether clipping paths are only a minor part of company costs, businesses should think again if those clipping path hours actually can be spent on more value driving objectives. This is an age where cutting costs and saving time are a core necessity to be successful in the business world. Visit www.LazyMask.com or email custcare@lazymask.com for more information.

LazyMask: Clipping Path Press Release

Volume Savings for Large Clipping Path Needs

LazyMask, one of the clipping path service provider pioneers, has recently updated their website incorporating more tones of gold and yellow in its newly spruced-up design. After years of sticking and playing with different shades of gray, LazyMask now gives its users a more colorful and friendly interface that makes navigating through its website easier and parsing the text convenient.

The bigger news other than the newly pimped-out website is LazyMask’s official announcement regarding the bulk discounts they’re offering to all their big clients. Michael Bernhard, LazyMask’s Marketing Officer calls this a year-round Christmas sale since the bulk discount is available each time clients send in a minimum of 150 images.

“Some of our best clients are large graphic companies that have extensive clipping path needs. Which is why we are offering volume discounts everytime they send in voluminous orders for clipping path and image masking. The more clients send in their images, the bigger the discounts we offer”, Michael Bernhard said.

The CEO of LazyMask says that “by specializing in this service, we can offer the best quality level in the industry with very cost efficient prices. Our focus is in making customers not only realize that major costs can be saved, but also a lot of time.”

So whether clipping paths are only a minor part of company costs, businesses should think again if those clipping path hours actually can be spent on more value driving objectives. This is an age where cutting costs and saving time are a core necessity to be successful in the business world.

LazyMask was formed by Kirk Outsourcing, Inc. to serve companies across industries that deal with graphics. These include publishing houses, advertising and/or marketing agencies, among others. The company is also happy to serve individual graphic artists and photographers.

Clipping Path is one of the Photoshop’s Image Masking Tools

Image masking is one Photoshop technique that is heavily used for product catalogs. Photoshop has several image masking tools available for a user’s varying needs. You have Quick Mask, Magnetic Lasso, Magic Wand, and the Pen Tool. Different tools all aiming for the ‘object against a white background’ effect that you’d find in any photo stock or image bank.

Image masking is the process of marking the background around the object that effectively instructs the Photoshop software to print only what’s inside the selection and ignore everything that’s outside. Simply put, image masking is isolating an object, extracting an object or eliminating a background. Call it as you like but each phrase describes one objective and that is taking a photo and isolate an object in it from the rest of the picture.

1. Clipping Path
The last technique we will discuss is clipping path. We will be using the Pen Tool to create a path that outlines your object. The created path is then used to create a selection for a layer mask.

In using the Pen Tool, make sure that “paths” and not “shape layer” is selected. Use the Pen Tool to draw a path around your image. You can adjust the curve of the path by clicking the anchor point and drag it to exactly fit the curve edges of your object.

2. Quick Mask
Quick Mask is fairly easy and a huge-time saver tool. Quick Mask mode lets you use brush, pencil, paint bucket, etc. tools to paint an "inverse selection" using shades of grey and black. (Black identifies parts that won't be selected; white identifies parts that, when selected, will have some level of transparency.) When painting the background with black using a brush, notice how the area turns pink. The pink area is the masked area. You can change the foreground color to white when you want to “paint back” parts of the object.

3. Magnetic Lasso
The Magnetic Lasso detects and snaps to the edge of the object, creating points, as you drag your cursor along the object’s outline. If a point is created at the wrong place, you can simply press backspace. If you want to deliberately create a point, left click precisely where you want the point. When you have made an outline around your object, click the first point you made and automatically a selection is made around your object. On the Magnetic Lasso option, you can control how close you need to stay at the edge of the image as you drag the cursor by altering the “lasso width” option. The “frequency” option lets you control how often points are made. The “edge contrast” lets you fine tune the edge detection.

4. Magic Wand
Magic Wand is a convenient technique especially suited for images with a high contrasting object and background. When you’re dealing with a solid color for a background with high contrast against the object, the first attempt will almost be perfect. You just click outside the object using the Magic Wand and press delete and viola the background is removed. (Tolerance level is set to 50)

Vector Art using Clipping Path

While viewing my pictures during my free time, it came to my mind to make a vector art of my photo. I found one photo of mine that is perfect to make it a vector version.

Vector can be made by using clipping path also. Vector is the term used for creating or editing images by stretching, twisting, coloring, and so on with a series of tools. It allows you to scale an image without making it blurry or pixelated. A vector-based graphic is composed of a series of mathematically described lines that form geometric shapes.

Here's what i got:

All About Clipping Path

Theres a lot news, articles and even tutorials around the globe about clipping path. Most of the graphics designers, photographers and even some of my friends who really valued their photographs and retouched it so that it looks better, they do clipping path. Clipping path service is now the hottest trend in graphic outsourcing industry today. There are volume clipping path service provider with who offers lower pari passu.

Based in research, basically clipping path is the process of knocking out the background of an image. Clipping path is very much useful especially in graphics design projects that require huge images. Companies that are in advertising industry specially those in magazines heavily employs clipping path.

Paths are really useful. Once you've got the hang of using the pen tool and the other path tools, you can create really complex freehand shapes such as symbols, drawings and icons. You can then turn these shapes into raster images at any resolution. Paths are vector-based (line) drawings. This means that you can stretch and re-shape a path and it will not lose detail.

There’s a lot of company now who offered clipping path service. It’s hard to choose which one who has the best quality. Some clients have skepticism about the quality of a certain company especially if it’s their first time dealing some projects with them. Maybe For graphic artist who do clipping path would be bird-dog with their works because quality does matter. Clipping path is ubiquitous now a day. Actually there's a lot clipping path tutorials now on the net, image clipping or clipping path is not deleterious so everyone can try to make their own.

Graphic designers and photographers should have pungent interest of learning in clipping path, for sure at first doing clipping path it felts lackadaisical to them but after that they are in a state of euphoria. Doing clipping path is a bit tricky but it's fun and it makes you rident.

Different applications that can do clipping path

There are some software applications that can do clipping path.

Adobe Photoshop - offers a wide variety of tools for removing backgrounds especially doing some clipping path. Pen Tool is the most useful tool in photoshop for clipping path. Pen Tool is to create a path around the image and convert the path to a selection. The pen tool allows you to draw a path around your image consisting of bezier curves.

Personally, I find it easier to place the points of the path around the image initially, and then go back and edit the curves later. If you're comfortable drawing with the pen tool, you may prefer to draw the curves as your create your path. If you're just placing the points for editing later, you'll need to place a point between each curved line segment where the line changes direction.

GIMP - is an open source graphics editor. Gimp is an impressively powerful and freely-distributable Adobe Photoshop-alternative open-source application for digital image composition, authoring, retouching and processing. In GIMP the path tool can be use for clipping path. The Path tool can make complex selections by specifying certain points that are connected together with a curve.

Corel Photo-Paint - is the well known image creation and photo editing application. In this application the Path Tool is best for clipping path. This tool is not all that different than using Photoshop Pen Tool. Using the path tool also involves working with bezier curves.

Others may say that they prefer GIMP for quick and dirty image editing but others says that they preferred Adobe Photoshop for clipping path because it's easier for them to do and its easy to use and understand the tools. Curate's egg is part of doing clipping path using with different application programs.

They said that clipping path is a vector path which allows part of an image to show while hiding the background of the image. A clipping path in an image editing program like those three applications is functionally equivalent to a mask in an illustration program. Other says that clipping path is like a silhouette of an area that serves as a mask. Only that portion within the clipping path (mask) appears when placed into another application or combined with another image. The area outside the clipping path becomes transparent. Well whatever they said all in all, for short explanation about clipping path is to remove background of an image or an object or subject.
